Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has launched the ‘Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Initiative of Literary Creativity".
The initiative is responsible for printing and distributing 100 read and audible collections of poems by famous GCC poets, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Community Development.
In this regard, Sheikh Hamdan saidthat the initiative will preserve the local poetry and support poets who struggle to publish their poems and instead of producing a hard copy of their book, they end up posting their work in the internet, where work of literary is more likely to be circulated with mistakes, consequently, breaking the pattern and rhyme of a poem and distort its meaning.
This entails taking a serious stance towards preserving the popular traditions and cultural heritage; just as our previous generations had done in maintaining their art of works which chronicle theimportantstationsin thehistoryofUAE and the region.
Sheikh Hamdan also stressed that 10 or 20 years from now these preserved collections of poems will be considered reference for generations to come.
