Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has launched "The Hamdan International Photography Awards" (HIPA) in 2011.
Sheikh Hamdan said that HIPA embodies the vision of UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to nurture a creative generation in the arts and culture arena, adding that the Award aims to generate global attention through photography and promote educational programmes and the development of the arts.
FIPA has three main categories; they are: “General” where photographers can select a topic of choice, “Love of the Earth”, and “Dubai” which aims to showcase the development and culture of the city.
