In line with the vision of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of the Executive Council Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has launched the ‘Hamdan bin Mohammed Smart Government Programme’, which aims to lay down the foundation for smart government through developing the government work system.
On this occasion, Sheikh Hamdan said: "Today, we lay down the path to transform Dubai Government to e-government and launch it into the future so that it can achieve ‘Number 1’ status in all services provided according to the aspirations of UAE's leadership. Not only are we looking to going global, but also to be an exemplary government. We are going beyond Excellence is no longer our only goal, but rather to excel through making a qualitative leap in government services provided at all levels in line with the directives of the UAE's supreme leadership, so as to accomplish historical achievements in public services and provide the means of happiness to the people of UAE.”
The program also aims at providing necessary support to government entities in the emirate to implement the smart government initiative as per the directives of the leadership to upgrade the government work system at the various departments, institutions and entities in the Government of Dubai, as well as to prod, support and mobilize government efforts to ensure transforming the leadership’s vision into a tangible reality.
In addition to ‘Hamdan bin Mohammed Smart Government Award’ the program will offer leadership training plans as well as smart applications for employees and customers.
